PV communication module EME 20 057188
Communication module for optimizing heat pump operation with a photovoltaic installation
This communication module, known as NIBE EME 20, is a key element in heating systems utilizing solar energy. It enables effective communication and control between the photovoltaic inverter and the heat pump, indoor unit, or control module. This allows for optimized use of solar energy and increased efficiency of the entire system.
Why choose it?
- Increased efficiency: The EME 20 module allows for intelligent energy management, utilizing surplus production from photovoltaic panels to power the heat pump. This translates to lower heating costs and greater user comfort.
- Compatibility: The module is compatible with a wide range of NIBE products, including S series (S1155, S1255) and F series (F1145, F1255). It also works with SMO S40, VVM S320, VVM S325 and other models.
- Simple installation: The kit includes all necessary mounting elements – the communication module and two mounting screws – making the installation process easier and faster.
- Integration with monitoring system: The module enables integration with the myUplink platform, allowing remote monitoring of system operation and energy consumption analysis.
- Optimized heat pump operation: Thanks to the continuous exchange of data between the inverter and the heat pump, the system automatically adjusts the pump's operation to the current solar energy production.
The EME 20 module is an investment in the future – it allows for maximizing the potential of solar energy and reducing heating bills. It is a solution for both professional installers looking for a reliable component for building efficient heating systems, and for end-users wanting to save energy and care for the environment.
Application and functionality
The communication module acts as a "translator" between the photovoltaic installation and the heat pump. Thanks to this, the heat pump can "understand" how much energy the photovoltaic system is producing at a given moment and adjust its operation accordingly. For example, when the sun is shining brightly and energy production is high, the heat pump can work more intensely, heating water or rooms without additional costs. In the event of insufficient solar energy, the heat pump switches to a traditional power source. This ensures the continuity of the system and maximum savings.
It is important to remember the minimum cross-section of the communication cables – it should be 0.5 mm² for cables up to 50 meters long (e.g. EKKX or LiYY). The DIP switch on the communication card (AA23) should be set according to the installer's instructions for the specific heat pump and inverter model.
