Single-core grounding wire for internal installations

H05V-U cables in yellow-green are one of the essential components of any electrical installation - they function as a protective conductor (PE), i.e., an equalization connection between devices and the ground. Their distinctive color is not accidental: the HD 308 S2 standard requires the use of yellow-green insulation exclusively for this purpose, which eliminates the risk of errors during installation and speeds up the identification of cables on the construction site.

The product is made of a class 1 single-core copper conductor with a cross-section of 0.75 mm² and PVC insulation. This combination provides the cable with the stiffness needed for permanent installation in conduits - the single-core construction makes it easier to pull through ducts and trays, while maintaining a stable shape throughout its service life.

Construction and electrical parameters

The copper core with an effective resistance of 24.5 Ω/km allows for trouble-free discharge of leakage and short-circuit currents. The rated voltage of 300/500 V classifies the cable as a low-voltage cable - it is suitable for lighting, socket, and signaling circuits in residential and public buildings.

The PVC insulation has a thickness of 0.6 mm, which translates to an outer diameter of approximately 2.1 mm and a weight of only ~10.8 kg/km. The lightweight cable does not burden the structure or fixings, and the small bending radius (5 × diameter) allows it to be routed even in tight cable runs.

Operating conditions and resistance

The operating temperature range from −40°C to +70°C allows for transport and storage in winter conditions without the risk of damage to the insulation. The minimum installation temperature is +5°C - below this threshold, PVC loses its flexibility and may crack when bent.

The cable exhibits self-extinguishing properties in accordance with EN 60332-1-2: in the event of a fire, it does not spread the flame along the cable run. This is important for building certification - the product has received a fire reaction class of Eca according to CPR.

The cable is not oil-resistant or halogen-free - it should not be used in chemically aggressive environments or in areas requiring low smoke emission during combustion.

Application and standards

H05V-U is intended for permanent installation inside protective conduits, junction boxes, and directly inside electrical devices. It is not suitable for installation in the open air without additional protection - the lack of UV resistance excludes exposure to sunlight.

The product meets the harmonized standard EN 50525-2-31 and has a BBJ certificate confirming compliance with the requirements of the Polish technical approval system. It is also compliant with the RoHS and REACH directives, which means that it does not contain SVHC substances above the permissible limits.

The minimum bending radius during installation is 5d (approximately 10-11 mm for this cross-section) - with sharp bends, the core may be cut or the insulation contact weakened.
