This four-pole surge arrester of class 1+2 (B+C) is a key element of the system protecting against the effects of lightning strikes and overvoltages in electrical installations. ### Design and functionality
This arrester is designed for mounting on a DIN TH-35 mm mounting rail and occupies 4 modules. Its construction based on a combination of varistors and a spark gap (3+NPE) ensures effective protection in various network configurations: TN-S, TN-C-S and TT. It is worth noting the built-in signaling contact, which optically informs about the operation of the arrester, facilitating quick identification of damage and the need to replace the insert. The maximum conductor cross-section, both solid and stranded, and flexible, is 35 mm², allowing connection of a wide range of cables of different thicknesses.
### Safety and compliance with standards
The V50-3+NPE+FS-280 arrester meets the requirements of EN 61643 standard confirmed by a VDE certificate. It provides a protection level of up to 1.3 kV between phase and neutral (L-N) and 1.5 kV between neutral and earth (N-PE). The housing made of self-extinguishing plastic (UL 94 V-0) further increases safety. In addition, the use of halogen-free materials minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire, protecting health and property. The follow current extinguishing capacity is 0.1 kA, providing additional safety in the event of a short circuit.
