Installation cable for versatile applications

The YDY 3x2.5 cable is a universal solution for transmitting electrical energy in installations both on plaster and under plaster. It will work in dry and humid rooms, ensuring reliable operation. The construction with three cores with a cross-section of 2.5 mm² allows for safe power supply to various receivers.

Construction and properties

The cable is made of copper class 1 cores (solid), which ensures good flexibility and easy installation. The core insulation is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), guaranteeing good protection against mechanical damage and external factors. The outer coating is also made of PVC, providing additional protection for the cable. The color coding of the core insulation – brown, black and gray or green-yellow, blue and brown – makes it easier to identify individual wires during installation. The cable is characterized by a rated voltage of 750V (450V U0) and an allowable operating temperature from -40°C to +70°C, making it resistant to extreme conditions.

Safety and compliance with standards

The YDY cable meets the EN 60332-1-2 standard in terms of flame propagation. The reaction to fire class is Eca, which means limited flammability and low smoke emission. The lack of armor or screen means that the cable is intended for applications where these elements are not required. This makes it an economical solution for many electrical installations. It is important to remember to select the correct core cross-section for the load of the installation to ensure safe and reliable system operation.
