Precise lighting control in the DALI system

The HALOTRONIC HTI DALI 315 DIM device is a dimming module operating on trailing-edge technology (phase-cut dimming), capable of handling a load from 3 to 315 W - depending on the type of connected light source. The operating voltage range of 220-240 V and a mains frequency of 50 Hz make it compatible with European electrical installations. The manufacturer specifies a rated power of 315 W, with the device reaching up to 420 VA under resistive and capacitive loads at a temperature of 40°C.

Control interface and dimming capabilities

The module supports two communication protocols: DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) and Touch DIM. This allows for smooth light intensity regulation in the range of 0.1-100 %, and in special applications - even below 1 %. The control signal is transmitted digitally, ensuring precise and repeatable light scene settings. The trailing-edge dimming function is particularly effective for high-voltage halogen lamps, traditional bulbs, and most mains-voltage dimmable LED lamps - as well as electronic step-down transformers.

Standby power consumption is below 0.5 W, which is significant in the context of installations with many centrally controlled lighting points.

Protections and operating conditions

The device is equipped with a three-level protection system:

• Short-circuit - automatic disconnection in the event of a short circuit at the output,
• Overload - reaction to exceeding the permissible load,
• Thermal - protection against overheating.

All three types of protection are electronically reversible - once the cause of the error is removed, the module automatically returns to normal operation without the need to replace a fuse or perform a manual reset. The maximum housing temperature in fault conditions is 110°C.

The ambient temperature range during operation is 0…+45°C, and the permissible relative humidity reaches 85 % (maximum 56 days per year). The storage temperature range is −40…+85°C, allowing the device to be stored in various conditions without risk of damage.

The plastic housing provides an IP20 protection class - the product is intended for use in dry indoor environments, without the risk of contact with water or dust.

Compatibility and installation

The module is dedicated to working with:

• all OSRAM HALOTRONIC electronic ballasts,
• ET-PARROT ballasts,
• dimmable OSRAM mains-voltage LED lamps.

Connection is made using screw terminals - on both the primary side (mains input) and the secondary side (output to the luminaire). Four pairs of outputs allow for the separation of lighting circuits from a single module. The device weight is only 137 g, and the dimensions are 153 × 54 × 36 mm - the mounting hole spacing is 146 × 15 mm, which facilitates integration with existing ceiling or furniture systems. The maximum cable length to the lamp/LED module should not exceed 2 m.
