Thermal and acoustic insulation for pipelines – Paroc Section Alucoat T pipe insulation

Paroc Section Alucoat T mineral wool insulation is an effective solution for thermal and acoustic insulation of heating, central heating, steam, domestic hot water and air conditioning pipelines. Made of high-quality rock wool covered with reinforced aluminum foil with a self-adhesive overlap, it provides not only a reduction in heat and noise loss, but also an aesthetic appearance of the installation. Thanks to the use of aluminum foil, the insulation protects against condensation.

Construction and properties

The insulation is characterized by flexibility and ease of installation thanks to the self-adhesive overlap. A special star-shaped opening design allows the inner diameter to be adjusted to pipes of different diameters (in the range of 22-28 mm), which minimizes material waste and simplifies the installation process. Rock wool, as an insulating material, provides excellent thermal – thermal conductivity coefficient is 0.033 W/(m.K) – and acoustic properties. This material is also temperature resistant up to +80°C (applies to the contact of aluminum foil with wool). In addition, mineral wool is a non-flammable and health-safe material with class M1 (does not pollute indoor air). It does not absorb moisture – tests according to EN 1609 and EN 13472 standards confirm water absorption at a level significantly lower than 1 kg/m².

Installation and application

Paroc Section Alucoat T insulation is intended for both professional installers and end customers. Installation is quick and easy thanks to the self-adhesive overlap – just press the edges of the insulation together, and then secure the connection with steel binding wire or mounting tape every 300 mm. In the case of installation bends, it is recommended to use ready-made PAROC Hvac Bend AluCoat T elements or cut segments from straight insulation, sealing the connections with mounting tape. The product is ideal for residential, commercial and industrial installations requiring effective thermal and acoustic insulation. In addition to standard applications, the insulation can also be used to insulate chimney flues.
