Thermal and acoustic insulation for ventilation ducts – Paroc Hvac Lamella Mat AluCoat Fix
Paroc Hvac Lamella Mat AluCoat Fix rock wool mat is an effective solution for thermal insulation and condensation protection of ventilation ducts and HVAC equipment. Made of high-quality rock wool, coated on one side with aluminum foil, it provides not only a reduction in heat loss but also limits the formation of condensate on the surface of installations. Additionally, the mat has a layer of adhesive, which significantly simplifies and speeds up installation – this will be particularly appreciated by installers working in the field.
Properties and application
The product is dedicated to the insulation of ventilation ducts, air conditioning units, and low-temperature pipelines. Thanks to its properties, the mat effectively minimizes energy losses, improving the energy efficiency of the building. The aluminum foil acts as a moisture barrier, protecting the structure from corrosion and damage. Rock wool is characterized by excellent insulating properties and high temperature resistance – even up to 250°C. However, it should be remembered that the temperature at the contact of the aluminum foil with the wool should not exceed +80°C.
Product advantages in practice
- Quick installation: Self-adhesive layer eliminates the need for additional fixing materials and shortens installation time.
- Effective thermal insulation: Low thermal conductivity (0.038 W/(m·K)) minimizes heat loss and reduces building operating costs.
- Condensation protection: Aluminum foil prevents moisture from settling on the surface of installations, protecting against corrosion and damage.
- Fire safety: Reaction to fire class A1 guarantees a high level of safety in the event of a fire.
- Versatility: The mat can be used to insulate various HVAC installation elements, such as ventilation ducts, pipelines, and equipment.
- Ease of processing: The material is easy to cut and adapt to the shape of the insulated surface – every piece of the product can be used without generating unnecessary waste.
- Durability: Mineral wool retains its properties for a long time, providing long-lasting thermal and acoustic protection.
- Convenient storage: Airtight packaging allows the mat to be stored even outdoors without fear of losing its properties.
Available mat thicknesses are 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80 and 100 mm. Rolls with a width of 1000 mm can contain different amounts of material depending on the thickness – from 2.5 m² for mats with a thickness of 100 mm to 10 m² for mats with a thickness of 20 mm. From 60 to 250 m² of material can be placed on a pallet depending on the thickness of the mat and the packaging method.
Remember to maintain the optimal temperature during installation - from +5°C to +35°C to ensure proper adhesion of the adhesive layer. Before application, make sure the surface is clean, dry and degreased. The product can be stored at low temperatures (-20°C), but before installation, it should be acclimatized for at least two days at a temperature above +10°C to restore full adhesive flexibility.
