Ignitor for High-Pressure Sodium Lamps

This is an electronic ignitor designed exclusively for high-pressure sodium lamps (SON). It does not work with any other lamp types — not for metal halide, not for mercury, not for fluorescent or compact lamps. Its sole function: to start SON lamps in the power range from 35 to 600 W.

The operating principle is based on generating a short, high-voltage pulse — sufficient to convert the gas inside the lamp into a plasma state. This is critical for stable electrode heating and subsequent lamp operation. No adjustment capability — it functions solely as a pulse generator, without additional features.

Construction and Operating Conditions

Designed for use in series systems, typically mounted in industrial or street lighting fixtures. The housing is made of SNI-85 material — resistant to temperature and humidity, but not hermetically sealed. Maximum housing temperature: 90 °C. Operating ambient temperature range: from -20 °C to 85 °C — sufficient for most outdoor installations.

Supply voltage: 220–240 V, frequency 50/60 Hz — compatible with the European grid. Connection via screws — no sockets or quick connectors. Installation requires basic knowledge of wiring layout and secure connection protection.

Compliance and Safety

Carries the CE marking and ENEC certificate — confirming compliance with European safety standards for electrical equipment. There is no separate "CE mark" symbol — this is not an error, but a documentation format. Weight: only 50 grams — easy to transport and install.

Not suitable for systems with automatic control (e.g., motion sensors or dimming systems). It is a simple, reliable component — like any good ignitor: it works when needed and does not fail without cause.
