Electromagnetic transformer for high-pressure lamps

Designed for use with HM type lamps (HPS, HPI, HPL, SON) with a power rating of 1000 W, the BHL 1000 L78 transformer operates stably in networks with a voltage of 230–240 V and a frequency of 50 Hz. This is a classic, non-dimmable converter – it has no light dimming functions or integrated control circuits. It operates solely as a basic power supply element – without additional components.

Construction and installation

The enclosure is closed, providing basic protection against contaminants and moisture, although the IP protection rating is not specified – this device is not intended for outdoor installation or in aggressive environments. Dimensions: 117 mm x 102 mm x 207 mm – compact form, but requires adequate space within an enclosure or distribution board. Cables are connected via screw terminals, facilitating installation and maintaining a stable connection.

There is no strain relief – cables must be properly routed and mechanically secured to avoid stressing the terminals. It does not support any dimmer systems: neither triac, nor DALI, nor PWM – it cannot be used in installations requiring brightness regulation.

Application and limitations

This transformer is for a single lamp only – it does not support multi-source circuits. Intended exclusively for HM type lamps (e.g., high-pressure sodium HPS, quartz-halogen HPI/HPL). It is not suitable for T7, T16, TC-D, TC-L lamps or other fluorescent or LED types.

It has no IP certification – therefore, installation requires protection against dust and moisture. It is not a device for installation in locations exposed to weather conditions or humidity. Compliant with CE and ENEC – meets basic safety requirements for electrical devices in the EU.

In practice: if you have an old "sodium" or "quartz" lamp of 1000 W and need a simple, reliable transformer without unnecessary features – this model works. If you want to control brightness or use a different lamp type – this will not be the solution.
