Electromagnetic Transformer for HPI Lamps
This is a conventional-type electromagnetic transformer designed exclusively for operation with HPI lamps rated at 2000 W. It does not support other lamp types, including T7, T16, TC-D, TC-L, or other standard HID solutions—only HPI. This is a critical detail: if you plan to use a different lamp type, the transformer will not function.
The enclosure is closed, providing basic protection against contaminants and mechanical damage in industrial environments. It does not include voltage relief features—it is not a transformer with additional surge protection. The IP protection rating is not specified; therefore, it should not be assumed to be resistant to water or dust.
The rated voltage is 380–415 V, 50 Hz—it operates stably within ±6% of the mains voltage, with a safe operating range extending up to ±10%. In practice, this means the transformer can withstand typical voltage fluctuations in industrial installations without failure.
The weight is 17 kg—a heavy component requiring proper handling during installation. Dimensions: 317 mm x 117 mm x 102 mm—it does not fit into small enclosures or restricted mounting spaces. Wires are connected via screw terminals—allowable wire cross-section: 0.7–6 mm². The required stripped wire length is 7 mm—requiring precise cable preparation.
The transformer has no dimming functionality—no 0-10 V, DALI, triac, PWM, or other brightness control inputs. It contains no potentiometer or programmable circuits. It is a simple, fixed-power device.
Power losses are 77 W at full load—typical for electromagnetic transformers of this power rating. The power factor at full load is 0.87, but without correction it is only 0.55—meaning the installation may require additional reactive power compensation in larger systems.
Maximum winding operating temperature: 130 °C. Ambient operating temperature can reach up to 80 °C, and storage is permitted within a temperature range of -25 °C to +80 °C. Delta-T (temperature difference between winding and ambient) is 70 °C—a key parameter for installers evaluating ventilation in enclosures.
Compliant with CE and ENEC standards—meets basic safety and electromagnetic emission requirements in Europe.
Operation requires a separate igniter SI54 (catalog number 913619149966)—it is not built-in. No igniter = no lamp ignition.
It does not support multiple light sources—only one lamp per transformer. Connecting two or more lamps is not possible.
This is a solution for professionals: a simple, robust, and time-tested conventional type. It lacks smart control features or energy-saving capabilities—but also avoids failure points associated with electronic circuits.
