PEM1G42X single‑throw limit switch A37-A93X
Limit switch with metal lever and roller, designed for industrial conditions
The PEM1G42X (A37-A93X) limit switch is a single‑throw mechanical device with a metal housing in a rectangular shape, covered with powder coating – providing resistance to mechanical damage and corrosion. Its construction contains no electronics or status indicators – it operates solely by mechanical switching, making it reliable in environments with electromagnetic interference or extreme temperatures.
The lever with a 14 mm diameter roller allows contact with moving machine parts – e.g., sliding frames, carts, or valves. The roller is made of plastic, reducing noise and minimizing the risk of damaging the contact surface. Forced opening guarantees that the contact will not remain closed after the actuation point is passed – a key safety feature for automation.
Protection and electrical parameters
The housing meets IP67 protection rating – it is completely sealed against dust and can be used even during brief immersion in water. It operates over a wide temperature range: from ‑25 °C to +70 °C, allowing installation in both cold rooms and near heating units.
The normally closed (1Z) and normally open (1R) contacts are intended for low‑current control circuits. In practice this means:
- 5 A at 24 V AC – sufficient for controlling contactors or small relays
- 1.1 A at 24 V DC – ideal for PLC circuits or pneumatic systems
- 1.5 A at 230 V AC – enables direct control of small motors or heaters
- 0.22 A at 125 V DC – used in DC control circuits such as controller supplies
This is not a safety switch – it does not meet SIL functions and has no safety auxiliary contacts. Its purpose: precise detection of travel limits and signalling to the controller.
Mounting and applications
The electrical connection is made by a fixed cable, eliminating the need for additional sockets or connectors. The sensor length (92 mm) and width (31.5 mm) allow installation in tight spaces – e.g., within CNC machines, conveyor lines, or hoist systems. The lack of a status indicator is not a limitation: this switch acts as a “limit‑position sensor,” not as a user interface.
In industrial installations it is commonly used as the final stop point – e.g., when a motor‑driven pusher reaches its maximum position. Its simplicity means no calibration or maintenance is required.
