Fire emergency shut-off switch – safety and reliability in one device

The manual push button of the fire emergency shut-off switch PPWP-A is a key element of the fire safety system, designed to immediately cut off the power supply in case of a threat. The device activates the “Fire emergency shut-off switch”, disconnecting the power supply to most circuits, except for those powering essential equipment and installations during a fire – such as emergency lighting. The button is used in facilities with a volume of over 1000 m³ or in areas at risk of explosion, where a quick response is crucial.

Functionality and construction

PPWP-A is a direct-acting type A button – activation occurs after breaking the glass. This ensures that operation is intuitive and does not require special training, even in a panic situation. The device works like a standard switch, equipped with signaling elements that integrate with the alarm system. Built-in LEDs indicate the operating status: a red LED indicates standby mode, while a green LED indicates the activated state after breaking the glass. The LED signaling can be powered by 24V AC/DC or 230V AC, providing installation flexibility. It has two contacts: Y (normally open, closes in alarm) and X (operates in reverse).

A hammer with a chain is included with the device to facilitate quick activation in emergency situations.
