SFG116 is a 16-port PoE switch designed to efficiently power IP cameras operating according to the IEEE 802.3af/at standard. The device allows simultaneous data transmission and power supply, which significantly simplifies installation and reduces costs by eliminating the need for separate power cables. Thanks to this solution, not only cameras but also other network devices using this technology – IP phones, access points or routers – can receive power.

Functionality and expansion possibilities

The switch offers 16 PoE ports that automatically detect devices powered by the PoE/PoE+ standard. Additionally, it has two RJ45 Uplink ports and two SFP ports, which, when equipped with appropriate fiber optic modules (GBIC), allow for the construction of a high-performance and interference-resistant fiber optic network. This configuration provides flexibility in network design and the ability to adapt it to specific needs. Optical LED signaling on the front panel facilitates monitoring the device's operating status and diagnosing potential problems.

Specifications and application

The device is characterized by a throughput of 56 Gb/s and uses the Store-and-Forward transmission method, ensuring a stable and reliable connection. The power supply for each PoE port is up to 30W, and the total power budget for all ports is 160W – it is worth remembering this when planning the switch load, especially when connecting cameras equipped with heaters or infrared illuminators. SFG116 is ideal for video surveillance systems, corporate networks and anywhere where reliable power supply of network devices using PoE technology is required. Rack mounting in a 19” cabinet is facilitated by the included brackets. Protection class I (EN 62368-1) guarantees safe use.
