Backup power system for PoE devices and recorders

This is a robust solution designed to provide uninterrupted power to PoE switches and recorders. The system, based on a switch-mode power supply with a DC/DC converter, guarantees a stable 52V DC voltage for network devices and 12V DC for the recorder. This design reduces the number of batteries required to two, thereby lowering operating costs. The housing, made of steel sheet (or ABS in other versions), offers space for two 17Ah/12V batteries (or 12Ah/12V depending on the model) and is equipped with a microswitch indicating door opening.

This system is used in video surveillance installations, computer networks, and anywhere continuous power to critical devices is required. Thanks to SCP, OLP, OVP and UVP protections, it protects the circuit against overload, short circuit and overvoltage – like most circuit breakers in this class. Optional tamper protection increases installation security.

Construction and functionality

The SWR-120 system is characterized by high energy efficiency (85%), which translates into lower energy losses and lower operating costs. The built-in DC/DC converter increases the voltage, minimizing the need to use a larger number of batteries. The device has a universal mounting plate allowing easy mounting of a PoE switch with dimensions up to 245x150x50mm and a recorder with dimensions up to 250x350x48mm. LED optical signaling informs about the presence of AC and DC voltage and the battery charging process.

The use of appropriate protections – such as fuse protection – ensures protection against short circuits and reverse polarity of the battery connection. The device is designed for surface mounting and has appropriate cable glands for introducing power and signal cables. Depending on the model, the housing can be made of steel (RAL9003) or ABS (IP44).

The housing dimensions are 330 x 380 x 173 mm (+/- 2 mm), and the space for the recorder is 250 x 350 x 48 mm (+/- 2 mm).
