Buffered switch-mode power supply – reliable power supply for security systems

This Grade 3 buffered switch-mode power supply, with a voltage of 13.8V and a current of 5A, is a key element of alarm and access control systems. Designed in accordance with stringent standards (SSWiN) EN50131-6 at level 1-3 and (KD) EN60839-11-2, it guarantees uninterrupted power supply even in the event of a mains failure.

Thanks to this, devices requiring a stable 12V DC voltage (±15%) will operate without interruption.

Design and functionality

The HPSG3-12V5A-D power supply is characterized by a solid metal housing (IP44), adapted for surface mounting. Inside, there is space for a battery with a capacity of up to 40Ah, which provides long-lasting backup power. The battery charging current is 1.8A. A built-in microprocessor manages the charging process, automatically compensating for temperature and performing battery status tests. Additionally, the START function allows manual switching to battery power.

The power supply has a number of protections: against short circuit (SCP), overload (OLP), overvoltage (OVP), and deep battery discharge (UVP). Optical LED signaling informs about the device's operating status – the presence of mains voltage, battery charging, and any failures. OC type technical outputs are also available for connection to monitoring and alarm systems.
