PoE Network Range Extender – EXT-POE2

The EXT-POE2 device is a practical solution that allows extending the range of PoE power and Ethernet data transmission by an additional 100 meters. This is particularly useful in extensive IP surveillance installations or LAN networks where it is necessary to connect devices located far from the main power and data transmission point. The extender is powered by a PoE switch or another device compliant with the PoE standard (PoE IN input). Voltage and data are available on two PoE OUT outputs, to which IP cameras or other devices requiring PoE power can be connected.

Functionality and application

EXT-POE2 is designed to operate in 10/100 Mb/s networks, ensuring compatibility with most existing installations. It uses wire pairs 4/5 (+) and 7/8 (-) for power transmission, leaving pairs 1/2 and 3/6 free for data transmission – in accordance with the Ethernet standard. This allows simultaneous transmission of power and data over a single UTP Cat. 5/5e cable. This solution minimizes the need for additional power cables, simplifying and reducing installation costs.

Safety and reliability

The EXT-POE2 extender is equipped with a number of protections that protect connected devices from damage. These include overload protection (OLP) and short-circuit protection (SCP), ensuring stable and safe system operation. In addition, LEDs indicate the status of the LAN connection and the presence of voltage at the power input/output, making it easier to diagnose any problems. The device has a metal housing providing durability and resistance to mechanical damage. It ensures reliable operation in a wide temperature range from -10°C to +40°C.
