This Grade 2 buffered switch-mode power supply, designated HPSG2-12V5A-C, is a key component of alarm and access control systems. Design and Functionality

The HPSG2-12V5A-C power supply has been designed for ease of installation and reliability. The metal housing (IP20) is designed for surface mounting and has tamper protection. Inside there is space for a 17Ah/12V battery, which takes over as the main power source in the event of a mains failure. Switching to battery power is automatic, and the START function allows manual selection of the power source. This ensures the system remains fully functional even during power outages.

The power supply offers a range of protections: SCP (short-circuit), OLP (overload), OVP (overvoltage), UVP (deep discharge protection of the battery) and tamper (against opening the housing). Additionally, it has two technical relay outputs – EPS (AC power failure signal) and APS (battery failure signal) – allowing integration with the monitoring and notification system. LEDs indicate the operating status of the device, facilitating diagnostics and maintenance. The battery charging current is adjustable using a jumper – it can be set to 1A or 2A, adapting to the needs of a specific application.
