Buffered impulse power supply – reliable power supply for security systems

The Pulsar HPSG2-24V3A-B buffered power supply is a device designed to provide uninterrupted power to burglary and access control systems (SSWiN and KD). It provides a stable voltage of 24V DC (±15%) and complies with the requirements of EN50131-6:2017 (degree 1 and 2, environmental class II) and EN60839-11-2:2015+AC:2015 (environmental class I). This is of key importance for the correct operation of alarm and monitoring systems.

The power supply offers an output current of 3A at a voltage of 27.6V DC and also allows charging batteries with a capacity of up to 2x7Ah. The power supply design includes protection against short circuit (SCP), overload (OLP), overvoltage (OVP) and deep battery discharge (UVP). Additionally, the tamper function informs about an attempt to open the housing without authorization, which increases the level of security.

Functionality and construction

The power supply housing is made of DC01 steel sheet with a thickness of 0.7mm and coated with RAL9003 paint (white), which ensures an aesthetic appearance and durability. The dimensions of the device are 300 x 300 x 105 mm (+/-2 mm), and the distance from the ground is 8 mm, which facilitates cable routing. The power supply has EPS (AC power failure) and APS (battery failure) type relay technical outputs, allowing remote monitoring of the power supply status.

The built-in battery diagnostics include a dynamic test, circuit continuity check, voltage measurement, as well as monitoring of the charging and maintenance process. Optical LED signaling informs about the AC power status, battery charging process and DC output status. The battery charging current can be adjusted using a jumper – a current of 0.5A or 1A is available.

Installation and application

The power supply is designed for surface mounting. The possibility of mounting a lock further protects the device against unauthorized access. Thanks to its reliability and compliance with standards, it is ideal for use in alarm systems, access control and other applications requiring stable and uninterrupted power. The total output current along with charging is 3.5A.
