Buffered switch-mode power supply – reliable power supply for security systems

The PULSAR HPSB-24V3A-B buffered power supply is a device dedicated to providing uninterrupted power to alarm systems, access control systems and other devices requiring a stable 24V DC voltage. The design based on an efficient pulse module guarantees high energy efficiency and reliable operation. The device is particularly useful where even short power outages can cause serious problems – e.g. in monitoring or security systems.

Functionality and safety

The HPSB-24V3A-B power supply offers a wide range of input voltage (200-240V AC) and provides a stable output voltage of 27.6V DC with adjustment options. In the event of a mains power failure, it automatically switches to battery power, ensuring the continuity of operation of connected devices. In addition, the power supply is equipped with a number of protections that protect both the installation itself and the devices connected to it:

• SCP (short-circuit protection) – automatic return after removing the short circuit.
• OLP (overload protection) – automatic return after removing the overload.
• OVP (overvoltage protection) – power disconnection after exceeding the permissible voltage.
• UVP (deep discharge protection of the battery) – battery disconnection at too low a voltage.
• Tamper - signaling of opening the housing, increasing the security of the installation.

Construction and mounting

The power supply has a surface-mounted housing made of steel sheet (RAL9003), adapted for easy wall mounting. Inside the housing there is space for two 7Ah/12V batteries (batteries are not included), which allows to extend the operating time of the system in the event of a mains power failure. Additional distance from the wall facilitates cabling. LED optical signaling informs about the operating status of the power supply and battery. The battery charging current is switched with a jumper 0.5A / 1A, allowing it to be adapted to the specifics of the batteries used.

The input voltage is 200-240V AC, and the output voltage is 27.6V DC (+/-15%). The maximum output current is 3.5A with a maximum power of 97W. The device's efficiency is in the range of 87% - 90% (depending on the source). The power supply has space for two batteries with a capacity of 7Ah / 12V and a number of protections: SCP, OLP, OVP, UVP and tamper. The dimensions of the housing are 305 x 305 x 105+8 mm.
