The SFP module GBIC-101 is a component designed to convert an electrical signal to optical, enabling data transmission over single-mode fiber (SM). It is an ideal solution for building networks where reliable communication over distances up to 20 km is required. The module uses LC connectors, ensuring precise and stable optical connection.
Key Features and Application
GBIC-101 is designed to operate with two fiber optic cables, offering full duplex. The transmission speed is 1.25 Gb/s, corresponding to the IEEE 802.3z 1000Base-FX standard. Thanks to the built-in DDM (Digital Diagnostics Monitoring) circuit, it is possible to monitor key operating parameters of the module in real time – supply voltage, temperature and optical signal power. This facilitates diagnostics and quick troubleshooting in the network.
This module finds application in various network installations, including connections between network devices, servers and in monitoring and data transmission systems. The module is compatible with devices from various manufacturers (subject to the absence of security measures in these devices).

The GBIC-101 module is characterized by a wide operating temperature range (-40°C to 85°C) and high reliability confirmed by a 2-year manufacturer's warranty. It supports various types of single-mode fibers (8.3/125 μm, 8.7/125 μm, 9/125 μm, 10/125 μm). The locking system for optical connectors minimizes the risk of accidental cable disconnection. The module is powered via the SFP port (3.3V DC). The wavelength of the transmitter and receiver is 1310 nm.
