Fiber Optic Module for Reliable Data Transmission

The GBIC-105 SFP module is a component designed to convert electrical signals to optical, enabling data transmission over single-mode fiber (SM). It is an ideal solution where stable and fast communication is required over distances up to 20 kilometers. The module uses an LC connector, providing a secure optical connection.

Key Features and Applications

GBIC-105 operates at a speed of 1.25 Gb/s and utilizes wavelengths of 1310 nm (Tx) and 1550 nm (Rx). This makes it suitable for building LAN, WAN networks and point-to-point connections. The built-in DDM (Digital Diagnostics Monitoring) allows real-time monitoring of key module operating parameters – supply voltage, temperature and optical signal power. This facilitates diagnostics and quick troubleshooting. The module is compatible with devices from various manufacturers such as TP-LINK, ULTIPOWER and CISCO, however, it should be noted that it does not work with devices protected against the use of modules other than original ones.

Important: For correct communication between devices, it is recommended to use the GBIC-106 module on the other side of the connection.

Technical Specifications and Operating Parameters

The GBIC-105 module is powered by a 3.3 V DC voltage drawn from the SFP port. It supports various types of single-mode optical fibers with core diameters of 8.3/125 μm, 8.7/125 μm, 9/125 μm and 10/125 μm. It provides high reliability thanks to its solid construction and the locking system of the LC connector, which protects against accidental disconnection of the fiber optic cable. The operating temperature of the module is in the range of 0°C to 70°C, and the relative humidity should not exceed 85%. The manufacturer's warranty is 2 years from the date of production.
