The PSB-24V2A buffered power supply from Pulsar is a reliable power source for devices requiring a stable 24V DC voltage. The switch-mode design ensures high efficiency, and the built-in protections protect connected devices from damage. It is ideal for alarm systems, access control, video surveillance, and all kinds of building automation installations. Thanks to the buffering function, in the event of a mains power failure, the power supply smoothly switches to battery power, ensuring continuous system operation.

Construction and functionality

The PSB-24V2A power supply is characterized by its compact dimensions (129x98x40mm) and the possibility of mounting it into a housing. Thanks to this, it can be discreetly placed inside the system housing or on a DIN rail (DIN2 bracket required - available separately). It allows charging the battery with a current of 0.2A or 0.5A – the setting is selected using a jumper. Built-in LEDs indicate the presence of mains voltage and the battery charging status. The power supply is designed to operate at temperatures from -10°C to 40°C.

Safety and protection

The protections used ensure safe and reliable operation:

• SCP (Short Circuit Protection) – short-circuit protection, automatically switches off the power supply in the event of a short circuit.
• OLP (Overload Protection) – overload protection, protects against overload of the output.
• OVP (Over Voltage Protection) – overvoltage protection, protects against excessive voltage at the output.
• UVP (Under Voltage Protection) – protection against deep battery discharge.

Additionally, the power supply has a high efficiency of 90%, which translates into lower energy losses and lower operating costs. The maximum module power is 61W and the nominal total output current (with battery) is 2.2A. Output voltage adjustment allows precise adjustment of parameters to the requirements of a specific installation (range 27V - 28.8V DC).
