Universal network transformer for many applications

This transformer from the TRZ 80VA series is a versatile device that can be used in both home installations and workshops or laboratories. It allows you to power devices requiring 17V, 24V or 30V AC from a 230V mains supply. This means that one device can replace several dedicated transformers with different output voltages.

Construction and protection

The transformer is enclosed in a durable housing made of PC/ABS plastic, which provides protection against mechanical damage and external factors (IP43 protection class). Inside the housing there is epoxy resin, which additionally protects the elements against moisture and corrosion. Double protection has been used – thermal (non-recoverable 130°C fuse) and short-circuit (0.63A fuse), which guarantees safe and reliable operation. This is important for both the installer, who can be sure of the safety of the installation, and the end user, who will gain peace of mind.

Power and parameters

The transformer has a rated power of 80VA and is designed to operate in a 230V AC network with a frequency of 50Hz. It can deliver a current of up to 4.5A at 17V AC, 3.3A at 24V AC and 2.7A at 30V AC. The connections are made on AWG 24-12 connectors with a cross-section of 2.5mm², which facilitates the connection of wires. Mounting is possible both with screws to a flat surface and on a DIN mounting rail (DIN2 holder required). The dimensions of the transformer are 95 x 136 x 76 mm (+/-2 mm), and its weight is approximately 1.78 kg.

It is also worth mentioning the environmental class II and the operating temperature range from -10°C to +40°C, which allows it to be used in various environmental conditions. The transformer has CE and RoHS certificates and is covered by a two-year manufacturer's warranty from PULSAR.
