Self-drilling drywall fastener

The DRA-01 anchor is a nylon self-drilling fastener designed for single and double drywall layers as well as aerated concrete. The extended design with an integrated drill bit allows for rapid installation without the need for pre-drilling a hole.

Design and materials

The anchor body is made from a nylon and fiberglass blend, providing high mechanical strength and load resistance. A diameter of 16 mm and a length of 36 mm make it an ideal solution for dry-construction walls. A special protective collar prevents the fixture from accidentally pulling through the drywall, guaranteeing installation stability.

The PZ2 drive allows for installation using a standard bit - you install the anchor and prepare the screw seat simultaneously. The built-in drill eliminates the need for additional drilling tools.

Application and compatibility

The fixture works perfectly for mounting decorative elements, lighting installations, and mounting mirrors and wall brackets. Kitchen cabinets, supports, and various types of accessories mounted on drywall will find solid support thanks to this technology.

Compatibility includes drywall with a minimum thickness of 9,5 mm (single) and 12,5 mm (double), as well as aerated concrete with a strength of up to 2,5 MPa. The recommended screw diameter is 3,5-4,2 mm, however, a dedicated screw measuring 3,9×32 mm is included in the set.

Operating parameters and safety

The characteristic load for drywall with a minimum thickness of 9,5 mm is 0,23 kN (DRA-01) or 0,25 kN (DRA-01PLUS). The design load is 0,09 kN and 0,10 kN respectively, while the recommended load - the safest for daily use - is 0,06 kN or 0,07 kN.

The minimum substrate thickness must be at least 9,5 mm with an embedment depth of also at least 9,5 mm. The spacing between fixtures must not be less than 22 mm, nor should the distance from the edge of the board.

Installation and handling

Installation is a three-stage process: first, press the anchor firmly against the surface of the board until the thread engages with the substrate material. Next, while maintaining constant pressure, screw in the fixture until it is flush with the surface of the base material. The final stage is placing the mounted element in the correct position and tightening the included screw to resistance.

The entire installation can be performed with a single PZ2 bit - both during the anchor installation and the final tightening of the element. The rotational speed should be low to maintain control over the installation process.
