What is a channel section?

A channel (section) is an elongated, straight, metal structural element with a C-shaped cross-section. It has a practical form of sections. It is characterized by high strength, resistance to bending and stretching, and universality of applications.

Application of C-sections

Channels are used for, among others: • routing cables using appropriate cable holders (an enlarged gap in the open part of the channel facilitates the installation of holders), • suspending lamps, • suspending cable trays and ladders; • constructing durable fences.

What to look for when choosing a channel section?

Channels come in many different variants. When choosing a profile, you should pay attention to, among other things: • size – height, length and width; • material and surface protection – most models in our offer are made of galvanized steel (including hot-dip galvanizing), which provides the structure with high resistance to mechanical damage and the effects of harmful external factors, such as water, moisture and extreme temperatures; • durability – in a project requiring elements with increased strength parameters (including in the case of plasterboards), a special reinforced channel should be used, e.g. double riveted. Selected models of reinforced channels are marked E90, which means they comply with the DIN 4102:12 standard. They are approved for use in systems requiring the maintenance of the efficiency of life-saving devices in a building for at least 90 minutes under fire conditions.
