The VARIOMAT pump-controlled pressure stabilization system, in its basic version VG 400, is a component dedicated to maintaining optimal pressure in heating, solar and cooling installations. Its task is to compensate for changes in water volume resulting from temperature fluctuations, which translates to stable and efficient operation of the entire system. This solution is particularly appreciated in closed systems, where temperature changes can quickly lead to pressure increases.

Construction and application

The basic VG 400 tank is an integral part of the VARIOMAT system. It uses a pump to regulate pressure, offering automatic operation and precise control over the installation. Unlike traditional diaphragm tanks, VARIOMAT systems allow for efficient use of tank capacity, saving valuable space. In addition, this system has a degassing function and replenishes water losses in the installation.

The application of the VG 400 tank is wide – it is ideal for heating, solar and cooling systems. It can function as a storage or control tank, equalizing flow intensity and reducing the frequency of pump switching on/off. This not only stabilizes the pressure, but also extends the life of the circulation pump.

Design features and compliance with standards

VARIOMAT tanks are designed with safety and durability in mind. They are approved in accordance with the pressure equipment directive 2014/68/EU and equipped with an interchangeable membrane compliant with PN-EN 13831. This guarantees reliability and long-term operation. The membrane divides the tank into a water and gas space, preventing air from entering the water and maintaining a constant pressure level in the installation. This design allows for compensation of changes in the volume of the working medium over a wide temperature range.
