What is a water pressure reducer and how does it work?

The water pressure reducer is designed to protect the water installation. When the inlet pressure in the system is too high, the device reduces it and adjusts it to the level required after the valve. All water installations, as well as those using compressed air or gas, should be equipped with reducers that ensure their full efficiency and effective operation. This applies to both domestic and industrial installations.

Reducers use special membranes located inside the devices. They create resistance to the flowing water, which in turn leads to a decrease in its pressure. The water pressure reducer allows you to select the desired outlet pressure value - even when the inlet pressure fluctuates and the water flow is not stable.

When and where is it advisable to install a water pressure reducer?

The water pressure regulator ensures pressure stabilization in the system, maintains its level within appropriate standards, and also prevents excessive water consumption, thus guaranteeing greater savings. It is most often installed behind the water meter and water filter on the main supply pipe. However, if it happens that access to the main connection in the water installation in our home is difficult or impossible, the pressure reducer can also be placed on the pipes of tanks and heaters.

when the rest pressure in the installation reaches a level higher than 5 bar,
