This DC surge protector is designed to protect sensitive data and signal lines from the effects of sudden voltage surges. It ensures the safety of devices and systems where signal stability is crucial. Designed to operate at 12 V DC, it effectively protects against overvoltages in both DC and AC installations (from 10.6 V).

This surge protector allows for the protection of up to four independent signal lines or two pairs of wires, making it a versatile solution for various applications. Its exceptionally fast response time – less than 1 ns for Line-Line and Line-PG protection – guarantees almost instantaneous intervention when a threat is detected. This is particularly important in systems sensitive to interference, where even a short-term surge can cause serious damage or data loss.

Construction and Mounting

The RSP-4L-12 surge protector is characterized by its compact dimensions (95 x 7 x 98 mm) and a weight of only 68 g, making it easy to install even in tight spaces. Mounting is done directly onto a standard 35 mm rail (PN-EN 60715), ensuring stability and ease of integration with existing infrastructure. The IP20 degree of protection provides basic protection against touch and contamination.

The rated load current at 25°C is 0.5 A, and the maximum continuous operating voltage is 15 V DC (or 10.6 V AC), ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices and systems. The surge protector is adapted to operate in harsh temperature conditions, in the range of -40°C to +80°C. The impulse current D1 (10/350 μs) per line is 0.5 kA – an important parameter indicating the ability to absorb energy during surges.
