The RSP-EH25/100-275/10 surge arrester is an advanced Class I+II (T1+T2) device specifically designed for demanding high-voltage applications. Thanks to its dual functionality, it protects the installation against both direct atmospheric discharges (Class I) and indirect surges (Class II).
Technical parameters and protection performance
The device operates at a nominal voltage of 230V AC with a continuous operating voltage coefficient of Uc = 275V AC. A key feature is the peak current Iimp of 25kA with a surge waveform of 10/350 μs, making it ideal for dissipating energy from direct lightning discharges. The maximum discharge current Imax reaches 100kA, ensuring effective protection even under extreme surge conditions.
The protection level between line and neutral (L-N) is 1 kV, ensuring safe operation of connected electronic devices. The single-pole VT technology enables precise adaptation to the specifics of a particular single-phase installation.
Construction and signaling functionality
The compact plug-in design occupies only 36mm width per pole, fitting standardly into 1 module on a DIN rail. Mounting is performed on the widely used DIN 35 mm rail, significantly simplifying installation in distribution boards. The device supports rigid single- and multi-strand conductors up to 35mm², as well as flexible conductors with ferrule terminals up to 25mm².
The built-in optical signaling immediately indicates the device status and any potential wear of protective elements. Additionally, a potential-free contact allows connection to a remote fault signaling system, which is particularly important in installations requiring continuous monitoring of the protection status.
Application and installation compatibility
The arrester is specifically designed for single-phase networks in high-voltage applications where standard Class II devices might prove insufficient.
Thanks to its Class I+II rating, it eliminates the need for two separate devices - simultaneously protecting against direct discharges (lightning strikes) and surges originating from switching operations in the power grid.
