The RSP-EH25/100-440-31 surge arrester is an advanced Class I+II (T1+T2) solution specifically designed for high-voltage applications with a nominal voltage of 230V AC. The device features a plug-in construction and provides comprehensive protection against both direct atmospheric discharges (Class I) and indirect surges (Class II).
Technical parameters and protection performance
For L-N circuits, the device offers a peak current Iimp 22kA with a 10/350 μs waveform, a maximum discharge current Imax 100kA, and a nominal discharge current of 25 kA. In the N-PE configuration, the parameters are significantly enhanced: peak current Iimp 100kA, maximum discharge current Imax 150kA, and nominal discharge current 100 kA.
The system is designed for three-phase networks in a 3+1 configuration with a continuous operating voltage Uc 440VAC. The protection level for the L-N circuit is 1.8 kV, while for N-PE it reaches 1.5 kV. The VT technology (MOV + GDT + TOV) in the L-N configuration ensures multi-stage protection through a combination of a metal oxide varistor (MOV), a gas discharge tube (GDT), and a thermal overload disconnector (TOV).
Physical construction, installation, and signaling
The device features a compact design with dimensions of 0.09 × 0.14 × 0.09 m and a weight of 1.41 kg. Each pole has a width of 36mm, and the entire unit occupies a standard width of 4 modules. Installation is performed on a 35mm DIN rail, enabling quick installation in electrical distribution boards.
The device supports rigid single-core or multi-core cables up to a cross-section of 35 mm², as well as flexible cables with ferrule terminals up to 25 mm². The plug-in construction allows for easy maintenance by replacing cartridges without the need to disassemble the entire device.
The surge arrester is equipped with potential-free contacts enabling remote fault signaling, as well as optical status indication directly on the device. This functionality allows integration with electrical installation monitoring systems and enables automatic service notifications.
