The RSP-T1T2-AC 12.5/1P surge arrester is an advanced Class I+II (type 1+2) device that effectively protects low-voltage electrical installations from lightning strikes and surges. Thanks to its varistor-spark gap construction, the device combines the advantages of the varistor's fast response with the spark gap's high residual current quenching capacity, ensuring reliable protection while extending the lifespan of components.

The device is characterized by a peak impulse current Limp of 12.5 kA for a 10/350 μs impulse wave and a rated discharge current In equal to 30 kA for an 8/20 μs impulse wave. The maximum discharge current Imax reaches 60 kA, guaranteeing effective protection even during very strong surges.

Construction and functionality

The arrester is designed for mounting on a TH-35 mm DIN rail, occupies one module, and weighs only 112 g. The cross-sections of the connected conductors can be a maximum of 35 mm² for single-core wires or 50 mm² for flexible ones.

The device is equipped with a mechanical status indicator in the form of a green/red flag, allowing for quick monitoring of the device's state - green indicates functionality, red signals the need for replacement.

The modular design with a replaceable protection insert allows for rapid restoration of full functionality after activation without the need to replace the entire device.

Application and compatibility

The arrester is intended for installation in main distribution boards (MB) in accordance with the lightning protection zone concept in the LPZ 0-1 area. It is compatible with TT, TN-S, and TN-C network systems, offering various ways to protect between phase and neutral conductors (L-N) and between neutral and protective conductors (N-PE).

The device operates in an ambient temperature from -40°C to +80°C in parallel connection or up to +60°C in series connection (V-shape connection). It provides an enclosure protection rating of IP20.
