Backflush Filter, 1 1/4 inch, 50 µm – for Potable Water Systems
The filter is designed for continuous purification of potable water before it enters heating or sanitary installations. Thanks to the Double Spin technology – featuring an external rotor and a spiral stator – both the upper and lower sections of the filter mesh are cleaned simultaneously during backflushing. There is no need for brushes or other mechanical components that could trap sediment. The water itself, using its flow energy, cleans the filter surface – with minimal water consumption.
The filter cartridge is made of stainless steel with a mesh size of 50 microns, effectively trapping rust, sand, hemp fibers, and other particles that could damage valves, pumps, or heat exchangers. All materials in contact with water meet hygienic requirements – NBR seal, polyamide (PA) filter bowl, and a dezincification-resistant brass (DZR) housing. This is not only corrosion resistance but also a guarantee of water quality safety.
An integrated pressure gauge is a key advantage, showing the pressure difference between the filter inlet and outlet. When the pressure drop exceeds 0.5 bar (at nominal flow), it indicates that backflushing should be performed. Additionally, an adjustment ring on the housing helps record the time of the last cleaning. The filter can be manually flushed using a ring wrench or connected to the Z11S automatic flushing unit.
The connections are external BSPT-R threads (ISO 7-1), allowing easy installation without additional adapters. Dimensions are standard: installation length 222 mm, housing height 351 mm. The nominal flow rate is 8.9 m³/h, and the Kvs value is 10.7 – sufficient for most domestic hot water and heating installations.
Important: the filter operates only in a horizontal position. Do not install it vertically – the flushing mechanism will not function. The maximum working pressure is 16 bar – but remember that the transparent filter housing is limited to 16 bar (unlike the brass housing, which can withstand up to 25 bar). Water temperature must be between 2 and 40 °C – it is not suitable for hot water above this range.
The drain valve allows complete emptying of the filter before servicing or cartridge replacement. There is no air vent valve – but this is not an issue: if air venting is required, it can be added separately on the line.
Everything operates continuously: during backflushing, water flow is not interrupted – the upper section of the mesh takes over the filtration function while the lower section is cleaned. This is crucial for systems requiring uninterrupted supply.
Manufacturer warranty: 5 years from the date of production.
