MAPP Gas – Efficient Heat Source for Soldering and Welding

MAPP gas is a special gas mixture that provides a high flame temperature – up to 2400°C, and in some cases even 2700°C. This makes it ideal for soldering, brazing and other applications requiring intense heat. It is particularly valued for its heating speed and efficiency, exceeding that of traditional propane, even in low ambient temperatures.

Application and Compatibility

The MAPP gas cylinder is equipped with a US 1" thread, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of torches, including RTM, Bernzomatic, Express, Vulcan, Rothenberger POWERFIRE 1" and ROFIRE 1" models. If you have a torch with a European thread (7/16"), you will need to use an appropriate adapter. MAPP gas works perfectly both in professional installers' workshops and during home repairs.

Performance and Safety

The cylinder capacity is 399g (according to one source, also 750ml), which allows for approximately 2.5-3 hours of continuous operation. Equipped with a safety valve, the MAPP cylinder guarantees safe use. The concentration of propylene in the gas mixture provides faster heating and better heat transfer than propane – even when working at temperatures below zero degrees Celsius. The ability to work in any position (including inverted) increases user comfort and access to hard-to-reach places.
