Overcurrent circuit breaker iC60N – reliable protection for electrical installations

This two-pole iC60N circuit breaker with a rated current of 10A is a protective element for electrical installations against the effects of overloads and short circuits. Designed for use in residential, commercial and industrial applications, it meets the requirements of IEC/EN 60947-2 and IEC/EN 60898-1 standards. This ensures optimal protection of electrical circuits.

Characteristics and application

The iC60N circuit breaker with characteristic C reacts to short-circuit currents faster than models with characteristic B, but slower than models with characteristic D. This makes it ideal for circuits with inductive loads, such as fluorescent lighting or electric motors. Characteristic C allows it to react more slowly to short current surges, so it tolerates starting devices with a motor well. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity (Icn) is 6kA at 400V and 230V, and the Icu capacity reaches up to 10kA at 400V and 20kA at 230V, which guarantees effective protection in the event of a failure.

Functionality and installation

The iC60N circuit breaker is distinguished by its easy mounting on a DIN rail and the possibility of connecting wires with a cross-section from 1 to 25 mm² (solid) or from 1 to 16 mm² (stranded). Additionally, it allows direct connection of two wires with different cross-sections – which significantly simplifies installation. The VisiTrip optical indicator informs about the tripping of the circuit breaker caused by a short circuit or overload (red color), and the VisiSafe indicator signals open contacts (green color), ensuring safety during maintenance work. Removal of a single device is possible without removing the busbar, and removal from the DIN rail is done without tools. Power losses are only 2.3W. The degree of protection IP20 provides basic protection against touch and ingress of solid objects.
