iC60 Circuit Breakers – Reliable Protection for Electrical Installations

The iC60H-C16-2 circuit breaker is a two-pole device designed to protect electrical circuits against the effects of overloads and short circuits. It provides safety in AC/DC installations with a rated voltage of up to 400V and a frequency of 50-60Hz. The construction based on characteristic C makes the circuit breaker cope well with inductive loads, such as motors or devices with power supplies – it allows it to react more slowly to short current surges, therefore tolerating the starting of devices with a motor.

Functionality and Installation

The iC60H-C16-2 circuit breaker is distinguished by its easy mounting on a DIN rail. The possibility of connecting wires with a cross-section from 1 to 25 mm² (solid) or from 1 to 16 mm² (stranded) provides flexibility in choosing the appropriate cables. Additionally, the device has double terminals, allowing the connection of wires from both the top and the bottom. Removing a single circuit breaker is easy and does not require removing the entire busbar.

Safety and Diagnostics

The circuit breaker is equipped with an optical VisiTrip indicator, which informs about the operation of the electrical release – a red color indicates a damaged circuit. Additionally, the VisiSafe indicator signals the physical opening of the contacts (green color), which allows for safe carrying out of maintenance or repair work in the downstream circuit. Energy limitation class 3 provides additional safety in the event of a short circuit. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity Icn is 10kA at 400V and 230V, and Icu reaches 15kA and 30kA respectively (according to IEC 60947-2 standards). The rated insulation voltage Ui is 500V, and the rated impulse withstand voltage Uimp is as high as 6kV.

Application

The iC60 series is a versatile solution for various types of installations – from residential buildings, through commercial properties, to industrial facilities. These circuit breakers meet the requirements of IEC/EN 60947-2 and IEC/EN 60898-1 standards, which guarantees their reliability and compliance with applicable regulations. Power losses are only 2.4W at the rated current. The degree of protection IP20 provides basic protection against accidental contact.
