Protection of electrical installations against overvoltages

The iPRD20-T2-4 surge arrester is a four-pole device from the iPRD family, designed to protect electrical installations from the effects of atmospheric and switching surges. Its construction based on spark-gap-varistor technology of type T2 provides effective protection of sensitive devices in residential and commercial buildings. Mounting is done on a standard DIN TH-35 mm mounting rail, which facilitates integration with the existing switchgear.

Construction and application

This arrester is dedicated to TN-C network systems, which means it will perform perfectly in installations where the protective and neutral functions are combined. It provides a protection level of up to 1.1 kV for both phase (L-N) and neutral (N-PE) lines, minimizing the risk of damage to connected receivers. An optical indicator on the housing informs about the operation of the arrester, making it easier to quickly identify the need for cartridge replacement. The device occupies 4 modules on the DIN rail, allowing for efficient use of space in the switchgear. The maximum wire cross-section of 25 mm² (solid/stranded) and 16 mm² (flexible) ensures compatibility with various types of cabling.
