Residual current circuit breaker IDK-63-4-300-AC 63A 4-pole 300mA type AC A9Z06463

Residual Current Device (RCD) 63A, 4-pole, with a sensitivity of 300mA, type AC is a key element ensuring safety in electrical installations. The device effectively protects against electric shock and the effects of insulation damage, reacting to the difference in currents in the circuit. The IDK-63-4-300-AC model from the Acti 9 series by Schneider Electric is designed for both residential and more demanding commercial installations.

Functionality and application

This RCD is designed for mounting on a DIN rail, making it easy to integrate with existing distribution boards. Its 4-pole design allows protection of the entire circuit. A sensitivity of 300mA (0.3A) and AC type ensure that the device responds correctly to sinusoidal currents, providing reliable protection against the effects of short circuits and leakage currents. This RCD is particularly important where there is a risk of contact with electricity – in bathrooms, kitchens, and also in damp or water-exposed rooms.

Construction and user features

The RCD is characterized by a solid construction and high quality workmanship. A width of 4 modules allows for efficient use of space in the distribution board. It has double terminals from below (busbar + wire) and serrated terminals increasing the certainty of connecting wires with a cross-section from 1 to 35 mm² (solid) or from 1 to 25 mm² (stranded). The placement of the neutral (N) conductor on the left side facilitates alignment with overcurrent circuit breakers, which translates into faster and more organized installation. Additionally, the RCD has a test button "T", allowing regular checking of its functionality – tests are recommended every six months for the first 7 years of use. Withstand to short-circuit current at 10 kA and impulse withstand voltage of 0.25 kA guarantee reliable operation even in difficult operating conditions.

The device meets safety standards and has a protection degree of IP20, which means protection against contact with fingers and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm. It operates in an ambient temperature range of -5°C to +40°C. Power losses are 5.6W at an operating frequency of 50/60 Hz. The rated impulse withstand voltage Uimp is as high as 4 kV, providing additional safety for the installation.

Especially for the Polish electrician, the K60 series is connected with every fork rail available on the market.
The widest range of equipment for construction on the market, solid workmanship.
N terminal in the RCD on the left side - easier busbar.
