The residual current device (RCD) iID-25-4-30-AC is a key element ensuring the protection of people and equipment in electrical installations. The device, manufactured by Schneider Electric, is designed to quickly disconnect circuits in the event of leakage currents, minimizing the risk of electric shock and preventing fires. The four-pole design makes it ideal for protecting three-phase circuits with a neutral conductor.

Functionality and Technical Parameters

The circuit breaker is characterized by a rated current of 25A and a high sensitivity to leakage current – 30mA. Type AC means it reacts to sinusoidal leakage currents, which is standard in most home and office installations. The short-circuit capacity of 10kA guarantees effective protection even in the event of high voltage surges. Mounting is on a DIN rail, which facilitates integration with the existing distribution board. The use of double terminals (up to 35mm² for rigid conductors and 25mm² for flexible conductors) provides flexibility when connecting conductors of different cross-sections.

Ease of Use and Installation

The design of the circuit breaker has been carefully thought out in terms of ease of installation and operation. The ability to remove a single device without removing the busbar and removal from the DIN rail without tools significantly speeds up installation work. Additionally, the Visi-Trip optical indicator informs about electrical tripping, and the "T" test button allows for regular checking of the device's functionality (recommended once a year for the first 7 years of use). The position of the N conductor on the left side facilitates alignment with overcurrent circuit breakers, which streamlines the organization of space in the distribution board.
