Residual Current Device (RCD) iID-40-4-30-AC is a reliable and compact device designed to protect electrical installations and people from electric shock. This four-pole switch with a rated current of 40A and a tripping current of 30mA (Type AC) is a key safety element in any circuit. Protection and functionality

The device effectively protects against the effects of short-circuit currents to earth, providing indirect protection and additional protection against electric shock upon contact. Thanks to its AC characteristic, the switch reacts to sinusoidal leakage currents, making it an ideal solution for most applications in residential, commercial and industrial buildings. The short-circuit strength of 10kA guarantees its stable operation even in the event of high overvoltages.

Installation and user comfort

The switch design has been carefully thought out with ease of installation and operation in mind. The ability to remove a single device without removing the entire connection busbar significantly speeds up service work. Additionally, removal from the DIN rail is tool-free, which is particularly appreciated by installers. Dual terminals allow connection of two wires of different cross-sections (up to 35mm² for solid and up to 25mm² for stranded), increasing installation flexibility. The Visi-Trip optical indicator informs about the electrical tripping of the device, and the "T" test button allows regular checking of its functionality - recommended once a year for the first 7 years of use. The N pole located on the left side facilitates alignment with overcurrent switches. The integrated lock prevents accidental switching on of the switch after it has been switched off by the residual current device.

The device is characterized by a rated voltage of 400V and an insulation voltage Ui of 500V, as well as a rated impulse withstand voltage Uimp of 6kV, which ensures resistance to transient overvoltages. It meets the requirements of EN/IEC 61008-1 standard, confirming safety and reliability. The IP20 protection degree protects against finger contact and the ingress of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm, and the power loss is 3.8W at a frequency of 50/60Hz. The device maintains proper functionality at an ambient temperature from -5°C to 60°C.
