Isolator switch – safety and functionality in one

This three-pole isolator switch ISW 63A is part of the Acti 9 series from Schneider Electric, designed to provide the highest level of safety and reliability in electrical installations. The device is intended for the isolation of circuits, guaranteeing full protection during maintenance or repair.

Design and application

The ISW isolator is characterized by a modular design, which facilitates its installation and integration with other elements of the Acti 9 modular apparatus. It occupies 3 modules in width, allowing for optimal use of space in the distribution board. Suitable for operation with AC voltage up to 415V and rated current of 63A, it will be useful in a wide range of applications – both in commercial and residential installations. Its short-circuit strength of 1.26 kA provides resistance to sudden current surges, and the switching capacity of 5 kA guarantees safe disconnection of the load.

Safety and status indication

A key feature of this isolator is the Visi-Safe indicator, which visually confirms the opening of the contacts – this is important for installers and end-users, ensuring confidence that the circuit is safely isolated. The IP20 degree of protection protects against accidental contact, which further increases the safety of use. In addition, the isolator has three auxiliary contacts, which allows its use in various circuit configurations. The possibility of equipping with a door drive or auxiliary contact increases the functionality of the device and adapts it to the specific needs of the installation.
