Durable network cable for outdoor applications

The SecurityNET Cat. 6 U/UTP cable is a robust solution for building networks in areas exposed to weather conditions. Designed for outdoor installations, it does not require additional protection in the form of conduits or covers – its construction ensures reliable operation even in harsh conditions. It will be suitable for both computer networks and monitoring (CCTV) or telephone systems.

The cable features a U/UTP construction, which means no shielding. This is a good solution where strong electromagnetic interference does not occur, and the priority is simple installation and lower cost. Copper conductors with a diameter of 0.5 mm ensure stable data transmission, and the twisted pair construction minimizes the risk of interference.

Construction and properties

The SecurityNET SEC6UTPD305 cable has been designed with durability and ease of installation in mind. Made of copper, it has 8 conductors arranged in 4 twisted pairs. The outer jacket made of polyethylene (PE) and an aluminum layer provide resistance to moisture and UV radiation, which is crucial in outdoor installations. This ensures that the cable retains its properties for a long time, even under changing weather conditions. In addition, radial and longitudinal sealing protects against water penetration inside the cable.

It is worth noting its flexibility – the minimum bending radius is 50 mm for fixed installations and 62 mm for movable installations, which makes it easier to route the cable even in complex routes. The permissible operating temperature during installation is -40°C to +60°C, and after installation 0°C to +60°C, which allows installation at different times of the year. The cable has a fire reaction class of Fca according to EN 13501-6. Its weight is 43 kg/km with a length of 305 meters per spool – which translates to convenient transport and installation on larger objects.
