STANDARD AIR mixing chamber automation system WAA0007
Mixing Chamber Control and Energy Consumption Optimization
This device plays a key role in heat recovery ventilation systems, where precise dosing of outdoor and recirculated air is required. The primary function of the automation is to control the water heater in conjunction with the mixing chamber, enabling constant room temperature maintenance regardless of external conditions. The system supports a configuration with one heater and one chamber, but thanks to appropriate expansion (additional components), it can also manage two heaters and two chambers simultaneously. This provides installers with flexibility in designing systems for larger halls or warehouses, while end users receive a scalable solution.
Two Operating Modes and Intelligent Air Intake
A key feature of the device is the ability to operate in two different modes, allowing the system to adapt to current thermal and air quality requirements. The mixing chamber is equipped with two air intakes – external and internal. The first draws fresh air from the surroundings, while the second extracts air directly from the room (recirculation). Mixing these streams before directing them to the water heater helps avoid thermal shock to the fan and optimizes heating energy consumption.
The control system responds to temperature changes, automatically adjusting the ratio between cold and warm air. This is particularly important during transitional periods when full heating is not required, but introducing excessively cold outdoor air is also undesirable.
- Energy Optimization: The system does not heat "on standby" but only as much as needed to maintain the set value.
- Simple Control: The interface is designed to be intuitive even for users without deep technical knowledge.
- Motor Support: The device effortlessly drives fans with a total power of up to 1000 W (2 x 500 W), meeting the needs of most standard industrial applications.
Power Supply and Operating Conditions
The automation is designed for operation in standard industrial and commercial electrical installations. It is powered by 230 V at 50 Hz, facilitating integration with existing networks without the need for additional transformers or inverters. However, note the permissible voltage deviation of +/- 10%, providing a safety margin in case of unstable power supply in older facilities.
The manufacturer provides a 2-year warranty on the device, which is standard for this type of control electronics in the HVAC industry. It is worth emphasizing that this controller works closely with SONNIGER water heaters (AERMAX series), forming a coherent heating ecosystem. Installation requires connection of mixing damper actuators and temperature sensors, enabling full automation of the heating and air stream mixing process.
Thanks to this solution, installers can offer clients mechanical ventilation systems with higher energy efficiency, while end users receive thermal comfort without unnecessary operating costs. The system operates reliably throughout the year, adapting to changing atmospheric conditions and user requirements.
