Cam switch – reliable circuit control

This 16A cam switch in OB3 housing is a solid solution for frequent circuit switching. It is suitable for both industrial installations and more demanding domestic applications. The construction provides high resistance to mechanical damage and external factors, which translates to long life and trouble-free operation.

Characteristics and application

Thanks to its design, the cam switch allows for manual switching of electrical circuits. It is particularly useful where reliable operation and resistance to intensive use are required. Designed to work with a rated insulation voltage of 690V and an impulse voltage of 6kV, it ensures safety and reliability in difficult conditions. The rated switching power in category AC-3 is 5 kW at 230V and 8 kW at 400V, and in category AC-4, 5 kW and 7 kW, respectively. The continuous rated current is 16A, making it ideal for medium-power loads.

Solid construction and high durability

The OB3 housing made of durable material provides protection against mechanical damage and the influence of the external environment (IP65 protection). The switch is characterized by high mechanical durability – it withstands as many as 3 million switching cycles. Adapted to work in a wide range of ambient temperatures (-40°C to +70°C) and resistant to vibrations and shocks (according to IEC standards), it guarantees reliable operation even in extreme conditions. The possibility of connecting wires with a cross-section from 1.5 mm² to 4 mm² facilitates installation and integration with the existing installation. The tightening torque of the terminals is 1.2 Nm.

Additionally, the switch has a high conventional short-circuit current (13 kA) and a rated short-circuit switching current (1.3 kA), which increases the safety of the installation in the event of a short circuit. Various versions of disconnectors (from 1-pole to 12-pole) and switches with different functions (direction of rotation change, three-phase starters, etc.) are available, allowing you to tailor the product to specific user needs.
