80A Cam Switch – Reliable Load Switching

This SK80 cam switch, which also functions as an isolator, is a robust solution for switching loads up to 80A. The design with double cams allows for the creation of individual connection programs tailored to specific application needs. The ability to set the knob stroke angle at 30°, 45° or 90° ensures precision and flexibility in configuration. The device is designed for operation in enclosed spaces with a pollution degree of 3, making it an ideal choice for industrial applications.

Mounting and Application

The switch is available in a version for panel mounting (P), which simplifies integration with existing installations. The wide range of applications includes motor power switches (AC3, AC23), switching resistive and heating loads, switches in transformers and welding equipment, as well as changing the direction of rotation of three-phase motors. It can also be used as a switching element in motor starters (star-delta) and for connecting poles of high-speed motors.

Design Features and Compliance with Standards

The SK80 switch meets the requirements of PN-EN 60947-3 and IEC 60947-3 standards, guaranteeing safety and reliability. The use of tunnel terminals and external insulated bridges ensures a protection degree of IP20 regardless of the connection configuration. Drive mechanisms minimize the formation of electric arc, and silver-plated contacts and copper active elements reduce transition resistance. The solid construction, based on steel screws securing the switch segments, ensures durability and resistance to damage. The device can consist of a maximum of 7 segments (14 pairs of contacts). Panel and enclosed versions achieve a protection degree of IP65. The switch is compliant with RoHS Directive 2002/95/WE, which means it does not contain harmful substances.
