Fire emergency power cut-off switch – protection of installations and people

This manual push button activates the fire emergency power cut-off switch, which disconnects the building's power supply in the event of a fire, ensuring safety during rescue operations. The device is intended for use in fire zones with a volume exceeding 1000 m³ or containing areas at risk of explosion. The switch should be placed near the main entrance to the building or the connection point and clearly marked. It is important that cutting off the power supply does not cause another energy source to be automatically switched on, with the exception of devices necessary during a fire, such as alarm systems or emergency lighting.

The PWP1 manual push button can function as a fire emergency power cut-off switch provided that an appropriate information plate is placed above it – a self-adhesive plate is included in the set. Model PWP1-W01-A-20-2LED7 is equipped with a dual LED indicator, which informs about the device's status: a green diode indicates the operating status, and a red one – the monitoring status. The red LED goes out when the glass is broken, and the green one lights up, signaling the power disconnection. The green LED should be powered from a separate source, preferably before the switch.

Construction and application

The switch is made of durable plastic and has an IP65 protection rating, which guarantees resistance to dust and moisture. The LED indicator is terminated with a connection box to facilitate installation. The minimum number of wires required to connect the switch with two LEDs is 4 wires (with 1 contact), 5 wires (with 2 contacts) or 6 wires (with 3 contacts).

The device meets the requirements of PN-EN 60947-5-1 and IEC 60947-5-1 and IEC 60947-1 standards and has a National Technical Assessment CNBOP-PIB No. CNBOP-PIB-KOT-2019/0110-1014 issue 2 and a National Certificate of Conformity No. 063-UWB-0186. The switch is available in red and its dimensions are 52 mm deep, 113 mm high and 113 mm wide. It is designed to operate in an ambient temperature from -40°C to +70°C. The connection wires should have a cross-section from 0.75 mm² to 2.5 mm².
