This surface-mounted device, model OP1-W01-B\12-230-M, is a key element of the fire alarm system. Designed for both commercial and public applications, it provides quick and effective warning in case of a threat. The set also includes a hammer OP1-W01-B\12-230-m for replacing the glass.
Construction and functionality
The OP1 fire alarm button is characterized by a solid construction made of red plastic. Its housing with dimensions of 113 x 113 x 52 mm provides high resistance to external conditions, confirmed by the IP65 protection class – which means protection against water jets and dust. Equipped with protective glass, it is resistant to accidental damage and unauthorized activation. This model has an LED indicator powered by 230VAC voltage, which visually informs about the alarm activation.
Operating principle and button types
The device is available in type B, which means that after breaking the glass, it is necessary to manually press the button to activate the alarm. This design minimizes the risk of false alarms caused by accidental impact. Depending on the configuration of the current circuits (normally closed NO, normally open NC or mixed NC/NO), activating the button causes the alarm circuit to close or open accordingly. The choice of current circuit type should be adapted to the specifics of the installation and requires taking into account the type of button (A or B).
Installation and compliance with standards
The OP1 button is designed for surface mounting, which facilitates its installation in existing buildings. The device meets the requirements of the PN-EN 54-11 standard, which guarantees its reliability and effectiveness in fire alarm systems. It has a certificate of approval No. 2266/2014 and an EC certificate of conformity No. 1438/CPD/0130. The connecting wires should have a cross-section of 1 to 2.5 mm² for solid wires and 0.75 to 1.5 mm² for stranded wires. The rated insulation voltage is 500V and the rated continuous current is 10A.
