Fire emergency break glass button – safety and signaling

This manual pull station PWP1, equipped with a hammer, is a key element of fire protection systems. It serves to immediately disconnect the power supply in the event of a hazard, allowing for safe rescue operations. This button can function as a “Fire Emergency Shut-Off” after placing an appropriate label above it, which is included in the set.

Construction and functionality

The PWP1 button is characterized by a solid plastic construction and a high degree of protection IP65, which guarantees its reliability even in harsh environmental conditions. It is equipped with a two-color LED indicator – red (standby) and green (activated) – providing a clear and readable indicator of the system status. The red LED lights up during normal operation, and after breaking the glass or activating the button, the green LED lights up, signaling the power disconnection. The LEDs are terminated with a connection block, and the green LED should be powered separately, preferably before the switch.

The version with a hammer facilitates quick activation in emergency situations. Different contact configurations (NO, NC, NO/NC) are available, allowing adaptation to specific installation needs. Depending on the type (A or B), the behavior of the contacts after breaking the glass differs – in type A, the normally closed contacts open, and the normally open contacts close, while in type B, it is necessary to manually press the button after breaking the glass.

Application and compliance with standards

The PWP1 button is used in public buildings, industrial plants, and anywhere where effective and reliable power disconnection is required in the event of a fire. It meets the requirements of PN-EN 60947-5-1 and IEC 60947-5-1 standards and has a National Technical Assessment CNBOP-PIB-KOT-2019/0110-1014 and a National Declaration of Conformity no. 063-UWB-0181. This is a certified product that meets the highest safety standards.

Additionally, it is worth remembering the minimum number of wires needed for connection: for the version with 2 LEDs, a minimum of 6 wires is required. The button is available in red and has dimensions of 113 x 113 x 52 mm.
