The Spirotrap MBC dirt separator is a key element of every modern heating, cooling or air conditioning installation. Its task is to remove harmful solid contaminants from the water, such as rust, sand, sediment and magnetite particles (black sludge), which negatively affect the efficiency and lifespan of the system. Installation before the circulation pump allows for effective protection of the pump and other installation components from damage caused by these contaminants.
SpiroTrap MBC not only protects installation components, but also helps to reduce operating costs. Removing contaminants improves the efficiency of heat exchange, which translates into lower energy consumption – even up to 6% for gas – and also reduces the risk of failures and downtime. This means that the investment in the separator pays for itself within 2-4 years.
Design and application
This separator is designed to operate in installations filled with water or water-glycol mixtures (up to 50%). Equipped with a strong external magnet, it effectively captures magnetite particles, which are particularly harmful to the installation. The rotating flange makes it easy to install in any position – horizontal, vertical or inclined – providing flexibility during installation in various conditions. A Rp 1 inch connection makes it ideal for use in domestic installations and small commercial facilities. A maximum flow rate of 3.6 m³/h ensures effective separation of contaminants even in larger systems.
The body made of brass guarantees durability and corrosion resistance, which translates into a long service life of the device. The entire medium flow passes through the separator, ensuring maximum separation efficiency even of the smallest particles – down to 0.5 micrometers. This is much more than standard separators! The large surface area of the magnets further increases the efficiency of capturing magnetite particles.
