The IB-YSLCY 14x1.5 control cable is an advanced solution designed for use in intrinsically safe circuits and potentially explosive atmospheres. Manufactured by TECHNOKABEL S.A., this blue cable with a cross-section of 1.5 mm² per core, ensures reliable operation in demanding industrial conditions. Its construction is designed for high flexibility and mechanical strength, facilitating installation and ensuring long-term operation.

Construction and properties

The key to its exceptional properties is its multi-layer construction. The cable cores, made of soft copper wires (optionally tinned), are insulated with black polyvinyl chloride with white numbering print. Twisted together, they are additionally secured with a polyester tape and a screen of tinned copper wires – this screen protects against electromagnetic interference both inside and outside the cable. The whole is surrounded by a special polyvinyl chloride sheathing, resistant to oils, gasoline and UV radiation. This polyvinyl chloride is also self-extinguishing and does not spread flames, increasing safety.

Applications and benefits

The IB-YSLCY cable finds wide application in places exposed to explosion hazards, such as petrol stations, fuel storage facilities or transshipment stations. It can be used both indoors and outdoors. Its oil resistance makes it ideal for industrial environments where contact with petroleum-based substances occurs. In addition, this cable is suitable for permanent laying and is characterized by high resistance to weather conditions thanks to the use of polyvinyl chloride with an increased oxygen index. This gives installers confidence in the reliability of connections even in difficult working conditions.
