Fire-resistant power cable – safety and reliability in critical situations

This three-core power cable with a cross-section of 2.5 mm² is designed for installations requiring the highest level of fire safety. Manufactured by TECHNOKABEL S.A., it meets stringent standards for fire resistance and emission of harmful substances during a fire. It is ideal for powering devices that must operate reliably even in extreme conditions, such as fire pumps, smoke extractors, or emergency lighting.

This cable is particularly recommended for use in public buildings – hospitals, shopping centers, cinemas, theaters, stadiums and other facilities where the protection of life and property is a priority. It ensures the maintenance of electrical functions of installations for 90 minutes, which is crucial during evacuation and fire fighting. It has a Certificate of Conformity and an Approval Certificate issued by the Scientific Research Center for Fire Protection - PIB in Józefów, which confirms its high quality and compliance with applicable regulations.

Construction and properties

The cable is characterized by an advanced construction ensuring reliable operation in difficult conditions:

• Cores: Made of soft copper wires (RE – solid round class 1), which provides flexibility and ease of installation.
• Insulation: Special cross-linked silicone rubber guarantees high resistance to temperature and chemicals. The insulation colors of the cores are in accordance with PN-HD 308 or marked with white numbers on a black background for easy identification.
• Sheath: Made of halogen-free material (HFFR) with HM4 properties according to PN-HD 604 S1, which means no emission of toxic gases during combustion and low flammability. The sheath is also resistant to UV radiation, allowing the cable to be used outdoors.
• Shielding: Coaxial core made of copper wires and anti-twist spiral of copper tape provides additional protection against electromagnetic interference.

Additionally, the cable does not spread flames and emits very little smoke during a fire. It can be used both indoors and outdoors (with appropriate protection against moisture). It is intended for permanent installation. The orange color of the sheath makes it easier to identify the cable as fire-resistant.
